recent purchases: boots and body shop.

Hi folks, first off I would just like to apologise greatly for completely neglecting my blog over the last couple of months. I have been so super busy and have just had no free time but now I am back.

So the other day I nipped into town to get a lipstick but as we all understand that is impossible and so this happened. I thought I would share with you what I picked up as I got some great deals and I will be sure to report back to you on whether I am enjoying the products or not.

First I went to The Body Shop and picked up the new "camomile sumptuous body butter" as I had seen it in a magazine and I am a huge fan of The Body Shop so just had to try it. It was £12.00 which is a bargain. I also picked up the little muslin cloth to use alongside this. It's for all skin types and you just apply it all over the face and them remove it with the cloth. I have actually tried this already and it is amazing at removing any traces and make up and makes your skin feel so clean.

Next I went to Boots and picked up quite a few things including the lipstick I had orginally went to buy. The lipstick I got is the Maybelline Color Sensational in shade "Pink Punch" which is number 175. It is a dark bright pink which was exactly what I was looking for. I can't wait to try it out.

Still in boots I picked up some No7 goodies. No7 is not a brand I would usually use but I stumbled across the counter and couldn't help myself. The Boots store nearest to me has the foundation match made service which for those of you who don't know is a little computer which takes photographs of your skin and tells you the correct colour match for you. To cut a long story short I picked the Beautifully Matte foundation in the shade Cool Vanilla. It says on the box it is for Normal/Oily skin, I have dry skin but as I like a fuller coverage I went for this one. It has a medium/full coverage and has an SPF 15. It was £12.95 and the make up was on buy one get the second half price so that leads me on to my next purchase....

I picked up the No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Duo in Iridescent Purple. I love purple eyeshadow and this one is really pigmented. It was £8.00 but I got it for £4.00 because of the offer which is a steal.

While the customer assistant was trying out the foundation on me she applied the Airbrush Away Primer. It's states that it is for hiding signs of ageing which I do not need to worry about but it made the foundation sit so nicely and has a lovely texture so I couldn't resist and if it helps me prevent ageing then it's a bonus. This was £19.50 which I did think was a little pricey for No7 but I cannot express to you how lovely this was. You must go in and try it for yourself. The skincare was 3 for 2 so again another great deal.

I picked up the Beautiful Skin Day Cream for Dry/Very Dry skin. I don't know if its been the weather or just lack of looking after my skin properly but I have had some extremely dry patches lately so I thought it was time for a new moisturiser. This was £12.50 which is great and it looks like it will last me for ages. The packaging is beautiful too and will look lovely sitting out on my dressing table. I have already tried this briefly and my skin felt lovely afterwards.

Still in boots (lol) I picked up the Beautiful Skin Hydration Mask also for Dry/Very Dry Skin. This is a great mask as you just apply it after cleansing, leave it on for 3 minutes and then remove it. This suits me as I have no patience to sit for a long time with a mask on my face. It was £12.50 but I got it for free because of the offer. Again great bargain.

Finally I got a lovely free gift from no7 including the High Shine lipgloss in "Coral Kiss" which I think may actually be full size. I also got miniature versions of: the extreme length waterproof mascara, the airbrush away primer, the triple protection tinted moisturiser and a stay perfect eyeshadow in a light purple shade. They all came in a lovely summery make up bag which I will be sure to use.

I was very pleased with all of my purchases. As I said before I am not usually someone who shops at No7 but the offers were just amazing and I know they regularly have offers on. It was also a mega advantage card points event so I got 10 points for every £1 I spent rather than the 4 I would usually get. Please let me know if there is any No7 products you have tried and enjoyed lately and I will definitely report back on if I am enjoying these products soon.

Review: Vitamin E Cool BB Cream (The Body Shop)

Hello, so today I am just going to post a little review on a new product that I stumbled across recently. It is The Body Shop's Vitamin E Cool BB Cream. Up until now I was a BB cream virgin so I decided to see what all the fuss was about.

I applied this BB cream one morning before college and I was pretty impressed with it. Unfortunately it has little to no coverage (as expected from a BB cream), so I did not feel comfortable enough to wear it on its own. I wore it as a base for my other make up and it did make a real difference, it gave me a nice glow, evened out my skin tone and my face felt moisturised. I also felt like it made my make up last longer.

I think this product would be great to take on holiday for when you don't really want to wear much make up and perhaps when you have a bit of a tan. The BB cream is £10 for 50ml which is a bargain if you ask me and also they promise to donate 50p to teenage cancer trust with every sale of the product.

Has anyone else ever tried this product? What did you think?

new favourite candle ❤

Hello, so this is just a short review about one of my new favourites. It's a candle from Laura Ashley that I received as an Easter present. It's in the scent Citrus Blossom & Nectarine and it is just lovely.

The scent is quite strong and you can smell it as soon as you walk through the door it also seems to be lasting pretty long. Silly me can't seem to find the box, I may have binned it (woooops) so aplologies for the lack of pictures.

I will definitely be trying more Laura Ashley candles in the near future.

Have any of you tried any nice candles lately? Let me know....

Hope you're all having a nice Monday.

march favourites.

Hello lovelies, so this is just a short post of some of the things I've been loving this month. Apologies for the terrible photo quality, I use my ipad for all of my blogging so its virtually impossibly to get good quality snaps!

So from left to right ...

Facial brush - The Body Shop. I recently purchased this little brush to use when cleansing and exfoliating my face for a deeper clean. I have been using it in the shower with a foaming cleanser (also from The Body Shop) and its great, it helps to lather up the cleanser more and always leaves my skin feeling much cleaner afterwards.

Rimmel Wake Me Up - Boots. You've all read/watched the reviews on this little gem so I won't go into too much detail. I jumped on the 'wake me up' bandwagon and I'm loving it. The only thing I will say is that the choice of colours isn't great for people with really pale skin like myself but staying power and overall look is brilliant.

Organic Cotton Pads - The Body Shop. I recently bought these much larger cotton pads to use when taking my make up off and they're great. They're lovely and soft and I only need to use a couple to take off my full make up (rather than half a packet of regular ones).

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick and Benefit Cha Cha Tint - I have put these two together as I have had the  Cha Cha tint for quite some time now but had only ever used it on my cheeks. However I bought this Kate Moss lipstick (shade 111 - Kiss of Life) and I have found that putting the Cha Cha on my lips before applying this gives a really nice base and helps to keep the lipstick on all day. The lipstick is a lovely deep red colour and lasts ages on its own also.

So that's about all from this post, let me know what you think and I'd love some recommendations on new products to try.

Apologies for being MIA and Would you rather (beauty edition)!

Okay so first of all I'd just like to apologise as I have neglected my blog for the last few weeks, I have been so busy with college and work and other things and I have been meaning to update but just simply haven't had the time. So I hope you can forgive me ? :)

Today I am going to do a post which I stole from Becki and it is basically the game "would you rather" but a beauty version. So here goes...

Would you rather?....
1. Only be able to wear eye makeup or face makeup?

I'm gonna have to say face make up, I do love eye makeup but its crucial to have a nice base.

2. Cut off all your hair or never cut your hair?

Never cut it, I know it would be horrible and in really bad condition but I cut it all off when I was younger and hated it (waaa).

3. Always have to wear clothes either too big or too small?

Clothes that are too big, they would be terribly unflattering but you could add a belt and other accessories to make them better and at least you would be comfortable.

4. Only buy clothes or makeup if you were given £1000?

Ahh that's so difficult but I'd probably have to say clothes as its more important to have a nice outfit.

5. Wear lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?

Would probably have to say eyeliner as lipstick as I'm pretty sure lipstick would look very strange at the eye area haha. Although so would eyeliner on your lips to be fair so you can't win ha.

6.Wear MC hammer (harem) pants or cycling shorts?

Hmmm probably harem pants as at least you'd be comfortable and you could make them work ha.

7. Never be able to fill in your eyebrows or use a sharpie marker to do them?

I'd probably say never be able to fill them in. I would hate it because filling them in is an essential for me but a sharpie would just look awful.

8. Never pluck your eyebrows or never shave your legs?

I know it's disgusting but I'd probably have to say never shave my legs because at least you can hide them.

9. Never shop at MAC or only shop at MAC?

I'd probably have to say never shop at MAC (please don't kill me beauty bloggers). I do love MAC but I'd hate
to be limited to one brand because other brands have such amazing things and they're only going to keep improving.

10. Only wear one shade of eyeshadow or one shade of lipstick for the rest of your life?

I'd probably say one shade of eyeshadow because the lipstick makes the difference to your whole look and
to never be able to change it would suck!

11. Wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

Winter clothes in summer, we never get a Summer where I live anyway so it wouldn't matter really and I hate being too cold.

12. Never be able to paint your nails again or never wear lipgloss?

Umm I don't really wear lipgloss that often so probably never wear lipgloss.

ASOS & marc b : E-tail pr competition... ❤

So e-tail pr are running another amazing competition... this time to win £75 to spend on marc b. and £175 to spend on ASOS. I just had to get involved as it's too good to miss. All you have to do is design an outfit round a marc b. bag using ASOS clothing which was really easy as there was loaaaaadds to choose from.

I chose the Tori Black Tote bag as it is beautiful and looks like it's much more expensive than just £59.
It would fit lots in it but is still really classy for a night out. I designed my outfit for a date night or night out with the girls. The lime dress is beautiful and would be perfect for spring time, I added the black wedges and leather jacket to give it a sort of 'rock-chick' look but you could wear it without the jacket too. I also put a Vivienne Westwood necklace and bracelet with it as they would match the bag really well and the red lipstick contrasts the dress but finishes the outfit off nicely.

If you're interested in entering the competition click here, hope you enjoyed my post and wish me luck :)

Competition: Win £200 to spend on Lashes of London!

So E-tail web stores has teamed up with Lashes of London to give bloggers the chance to win £200 worth of vouchers to spend on Lashes of London. All you have to do is create a wish list of the things you would like from Lashes of London, which was pretty easy as they have loads of lovely things in just now. You then have to post it on your blog with this link to the website. You then just e-mail the link to your post to bloggers@e-tailwebstores.com. It's as simple as that! :)

I know I'm probably not in with much of a chance as I don't have great editing software (I do all of my blogging on my ipad, sigh), so my collage doesn't look as great as it could. It was fun making the wish list anyway and I'd love to see your collages if you're going to enter so feel free to comment with a link to it.

Also if anyone knows any good apps that you can make wish list style collages on (better than mine, ha), please let me know! :)

Wish me Luck! :)

Valentines Post ❤

So I stole this from another blogger (This One to be precise). And basically it's like a tag where you answer questions about things you love (other than your valentine). So here's mine...

14 Things I Love

number one- beauty product...
at the moment I'd probably have to say Rimmel - Apocolips as I'm truly amazed by it see my post
here for my full review

number two- perfume...
Vera Wang - Princess, simply because it smells beautiful.

number three- shop...
I'm going to have to say Primark. If you go to the right place and it's not like a jumble sale then you can really get some amazing bargains (usually 3 or 4 bags full of them if you're like me).

number four- city...
I'd have to say Glasgow because its probably the one I visit the most. I went to London a couple of times but never for shopping so I would love to go again. Also Barcelona was beautiful.

number five- movie...
This is a hard decision but anything Disney (the rescuers and lady and the tramp in particular), P.S I Love You, The Notebook and most recently Les Miserables and The Vow (see previous posts lol).

number six- song...
Again a really hard decision - every Glasvegas song. every Ben Howard song and Love you Til the End by The Pogues.

number seven- person...
My Boyfriend - Paul. He's just simply amazing and I'm so lucky as I get to have him as a boyfriend but he's also my best friend!

number eight- hobbie...
Eating, watching movies, reading, blogging and cross stitching. Perhaps I need to get a life lol.

number nine- food...
Crisps!

number ten - drink...

I'd have to say Fanta or flavoured water.

number eleven- designer...
I'm not a huge wearer of designer clothes, I'm more of a high street dresser. But I'd probably have to say Karl Lagerfield (Chanel).

number twelve- day...
I'd probably say Christmas, for so many reasons... presents, loads of food and spending time with loved ones more than usual.

number thirteen- memory...
Meeting Paul and our holiday last Summer.

number fourteen- blog...
Zoella, Sprinke of Glitter and FleurdeForce by far!

i hope you all have a great valentines day! let me know your plans in the comments below?

♥ i tag YOU to answer these questions ♥

OOTD; A day with my nephew and my boyfriend!

Outfit of the Day:

So today Paul and I were both off (yay). We decided to get my nephew and take him a walk for a couple of hours to give my sister a break for a while. We then came home and watched 'The Vow' which was amazing, I suggest if you like movies such as 'The Notebook' that you watch this. It was a really nice day and the sun was shining for the first time in what seems like forever. I just thought I'd share with you what I wore today.

Shirt - Primark
Disco Pants - New Look
Converse - Office
(I also wore a coat as although the sun was shining it was still quite cold)

I hope you all enjoyed your Monday as much as I did. :)

What's in my bag? ;

So I know everyone and their grandma has done these posts but I decided to jump on the band wagon anyway.

This is my bag...

It says "women of the world' on the front and displays stereotypical women from all different areas of the world. It's a medium sized bag but fits quite a lot in it to be fair. It also comes with a long strap if you want to wear it over your shoulder but I usually wear it in the crook of my arm.

Here's what I had in my bag today...

  • Hair bobble
  • Dove deodorant
  • Body Shop Bronzer
  • Mac Make up Brush
  • Rimmel Apocolips Lip laquer
  • Benefit "feelin' dandy" kit
  • I phone
  • Vera Wang - Princess perfume
  • Diary
  • Purse
  • Pen
I'd be interested to know if anyone else has this bag because I haven't seen anyone else with it?

What's in your bag? Do you have any tips of things I should carry around?

Beth, xx

Sunday 3 February 2013

Summary of my Sunday;

So today has been one of those days where you don't do very much and it's just wonderful. I spent a little time with my nephew this afternoon but apart from that my day was taken up by newly found interest - cross stitching and baking. I made ordinary cupcakes but decorated them with butter icing,  popping candy and butterflies. I am also in the process of stitching something to put on a valentines card for my boyfriend... but shhh!

Hope you're all having a good Sunday!

Let me know if any of you have had similar days or what your Sunday plans are ?

Review : Rimmel Apocalips;

Rimmel Apocalips;

So today I nipped into Boots to pick up a few things and get some points on my advantage card, as you do, and I decided to have a quick look at the make-up. Whilst browsing at the Rimmel stand I spotted the 'Apocalips lip lacquer' and remembered I had seen quite a few different reviews on these (all good), so I decided to pick it up in the colour "Stellar" which is a bright pink colour. As soon as I got home I decided to try it out and let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed! It's amazing and so pigmented.

I'm so impressed with this, it's just beautiful on and lasts ages! It goes on like a lipgloss but has a sort of matte look and is really pigmented like a lipstick or tint. The packaging is really nice too. The only downside I would say is that it's not that big so I'm not sure how long the product will last. It's only £5.99 in Boots though, which is brilliant.

I'm definitely going to pick up more of these next time in Boots (perhaps them all, lol). Have you tried this ? Let me know :)

Beth, xx

Quick Every Day Make Up;

This is a quick make up look that I use most of the time if I don't have a lot of time to get ready. For example if I'm going to college or nipping out somewhere. It's pretty simple and takes about 5-10 minutes. The pictures aren't great but it gives you an idea :-) I usually straighten my hair using ghd's, if I'm going out I would add my hair extensions as I was cursed with really thin hair (thanks mum). But for this quick look my hair is my own.

What I used -

Foundation - Body Shop Moisture Foundation - 03
Concealer - Body Shop Lightening Touch - 03
Bronzer - Body Shop Baked Bronzer - 02
Eyeshadow - MAC (don't know the shade sorry, browny colour though)
Eyeliner - Maybelline Gel Eyeliner
Blusher - MAC - sheer shimmer blusher - Springsheen
Mascara - Benefit - They're Real
Brows - Body Shop Brow Kit
Lips - Body Shop Lipstick (not sure which kind) - Shade 58

Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas for quick make up! :)

Yesterday's LOTD;

If you read my previous blog you will know that yesterday I went to the Britain's Got Talent auditions in Glasgow. The dress code was casual and this is just a quick example of what I wore/ how I done my hair and make up. I was in a little bit of a rush when I left and didn't have a lot of time to take photos so not everything I wore is shown here but I'll add it in anyway.

Outfit:
Peplum top - River Island
Leggings - New Look
Necklace (first picture) - New Look
I also wore my black Chelsea boots from Newlook, my coat from Debenhams and a purple skull scarf from Primark.

Benefit Porefessional Primer
Foundation: YSL Le Teint Touché Éclat in shade B10
Concealer - The Body Shop Lightening Touch in shade 03

Britain's Got Talent auditions!

So yesterday my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to have tickets to the Britain's Got Talent auditions in Glasgow. After an hour and a half drive up the road I realised I had forgotten the tickets (nightmare). Luckily the staff were kind enough to accept the email I had on my phone and after a couple of hours waiting outside in the rain and wind (oh lovely Scottish weather), we finally got in. Much to our surprise we also had amazing seats, only two rows behind the judges and in view of all of the cameras. It really was an amazing day and there was some brilliant talent, which I'm sure you will get to see when it's on TV.

I had never been to anything like this before and didn't even know that you could. So if anyone would like the chance to see their favourite TV programmes I got the tickets from a website called Applause Store and they were free!!
